Trancoso is a small and popular town in the state of Bahia and very famous for it's beaches. Brazil is famous for Rio Carnival but nothing beats the white sands and emerald seas of Trancoso. Close to Quadrado is sixteenth century Catholic Church dedicated to St. John. Popular Trancoso beaches include:

- Praia dos Nativos: About 3 kilometers of sand and big restaurants. You can enjoy beach, do horse riding or do boating.

- Praia dos Coqueiros: Less crowded, lots of coconut trees and coral reefs 100 meters into the sea.

- Praia da Pedra Grande: Thinner than the other beaches and much less crowded and just a couple of restaurants. There is a small section of nude/nudist beach in this area.

There are a few bars in this area and quite a few tourists prefer to hang out here. Also try the pineapple/cachaca drinks, tropical fruits cocktails.
