Trancoso is a small and popular town in the state of Bahia and very famous for it's beaches. Brazil is famous for Rio Carnival but nothing beats the white sands and emerald seas of Trancoso. It possesses a 12 kilometer area of crystalline beaches and exuberant vegetation. The beaches of Troncoso are the most beautiful of the region. Recent years have seen the arrival of more cosmopolitan visitors but its low-key character and distinct bohemian feel remains intact. There are man rich and famous who come or live in this town and people are friendly to the tourists.It is located 450 miles of Salvador, the beauty of Trancoso is equally famous among local Brazil residents and international tourists. Porto Seguro International Airport is about 30 minutes drive from Trancoso.
There are several cottages, villas, inns and hotels in the area. Quite a few people who come here prefer to rent one of these cottages or villas and enjoy the beauty of this place. The climate is perfect all year long and tourists also enjoy the intimacy and privacy of a small village.Trancoso Tourism It was once a rustic fishing village and one of the earliest settlements of Portuguese in Brazil. Troncoso is also an important historic site; its infrastructure has been preserved, almost exactly, from the époque of the discovery of Brazil. The main square of Troncoso is called 'Quadrado'. During daytime you can see the locals busy in their own work, children playing but in the late evening the ambience turns festive with candles, and artists who play drums, guitars and few people who even dance. Close to Quadrado is sixteenth century Catholic Church dedicated to St. John. Tourists enjoy and explore the historical sites, buy local products from small stores which carry local arts and crafts, and great dining, Snack bars and restaurant beachfront are everywhere. Some travel to Porto Seguro and Arrail d'Adjuda for day trips and can enjoy many more shopping and dining options. Trancoso is a great travel and tourism destination.
Popular Trancoso beaches include:
- Praia dos Nativos: About 3 kilometers of sand and big restaurants. You can enjoy beach, do horse riding or do boating.
- Praia dos Coqueiros: Less crowded, lots of coconut trees and coral reefs 100 meters into the sea.
- Praia da Pedra Grande: Thinner than the other beaches and much less crowded and just a couple of restaurants. There is a small section of nude/nudist beach in this area.
Trancose Nightlife:
There are a few bars in this area and quite a few tourists prefer to hang out here. Also try the pineapple/cachaca drinks, tropical fruits cocktails.
